Monsterworks/The God Album/Casket Records/2011 CD Review

Monsterworks are a band from New Zealand that mixes, death, thrash and power metal together and this is a review of their 2011 album "The God Album" which was released by Casket Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with some blast beats being used at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and you can hear some traditional metal influences.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffs that combine thrash, death, and power metal together with some melodic riffing being used at times, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding traditional metal guitar solos, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use full chords and exotic scales, they give the music a classic rock feel.

Vocals are mostly high pitched power metal vocals with some deep death metal growls being thrown in at times, while the lyrics cover the corruption of religion, as for the production it has a very powerful, professional and heavy sound to it.

In my opinion Monsterworks are a very talented and original band that takes the classic power metal sound and mixes in death metal influences to keep the music from being weak or outdated by modern standards, and if you have been looking for something new but borrows from the old, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Everything You Believe Is A Lie" "Enemy Of My Enemy" "False Miracle" and "Let It Go". RECEMMONDED BUY.
